Toxicity Determination of Five Insecticides on the Larvae of Ophelimus bipolaris
Ophelimus bipolaris is a new invasive pest, belonging to the family Eulophidae in the order Hy-menoptera.In 2021,the insect was documented for the first time in Guangzhou,China. To explore the control methods for O.bipolaris, this study evaluated the efficacy of five insecticides, including 40%chlorpyrifos EC,5%imidacloprid EC,1.8%abamectin EC,10%lambda-cyhalothrin EW,and 40%triazophos EC-under labo-ratory conditions. The results showed that five insecticides showed different degrees of control effect on the lar-vae of O.bipolaris.The corrected mortality rate of 40%triazophos EC at 40 g·L-1 was the highest reaching 84.48%for the larvae. At the same mass volume concentration,1.8%abamectin EC showed the highest toxici-ty,with a median lethal concentration of 0.02 g·L-1 against the larvae.Consequently, abamectin is recom-mended for the prevention and control of O.bipolaris in the forest.
