A scientific health assessment of rivers and lakes can reflect the health base of rivers and lakes in an all-round way and plays a guiding role in harnessing and protecting rivers and lakes.In the assessment of the Pearl River front channel,the monitoring of various biophysical and chemical indexes of the river channel and the integration of relevant data are combined with the actual situation.The health status of the river channel in four aspects:"basin","water",biology and social service.The assessment results show that the whole channel in front of the Pearl River is in a healthy state,but there are significant problems in some criterion layers.The sediment pollution is severe,the heavy metal cadmium seriously exceeds the standard,and the invasion of foreign species is serious,the diversity of fish is insufficient.Based on the problems found,the unhealthy pressure of the front channel of the Pearl River is carried out,and the countermeasures and suggestions for river health protection are put forward.
