Decoloniality is a recent theoretical trend which has gained attention in academia.By thinking from the"outside"of Europe,it argues that although colonialism has ended, coloniality still exists and continues to have an impact on the relationships between different countries and regions in the world.Combining the relevant discussions of important theorists such as Aníbal Quijano and Walter Mignolo, this article primarily discusses the decolonial theory from three aspects:Firstly,as a perspec-tive from the outside, decoloniality reflects on modernity from the standpoint of coloniality, revealing the hidden logic of coloniality behind the promise of modernity.Secondly,in comparison with the post-colonial theory, decoloniality aims to decolonize knowledge without falling into the trap of modernity. However, postcolonial theory remains largely constrained by Eurocentrism. Finally, decoloniality em-phasizes the harmonious coexistence of all human beings and imagines an alternative world order which aims at the care of life, the growth of community, and harmony.
