On the Inheritance and Extension of Beckett in Jon Fosse's Writing
Jon Fosse is a significant figure in contemporary theater and awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature.Fosse's plays display Beckett's postmodern dramatic elements in terms of language usage and character strategy, and it is not hard to see how much of an influence Beckett had on Fosse's dramatization.Fosse,on the other hand, did not blindly follow the footsteps of this predecessor. In his composition,he merged elements of the emerging contemporary works with the literary heritage of the country.Based on the dialectical absorption of Beckett's creative ideas,he also examined the boundaries of spatial connections and time and space in contemporary theater.Apart from exemplifying Beckett's significance for contemporary theater,Fosse's assimilation and progression of his dramatic ideas provide fresh perspectives for the genre's progress.
