In contemporary America,the inter-ethnic relations of solidarity between Chinese and Black Americans are coming to an end with the implementation of the Affirmative Action.Michael Chabon explores the reconstruction of the inter-ethnic relations in Telegraph Avenue.By presenting the characterization of the old,the middle-aged and the young Black Americans under the influence of kung fu,the novel reveals that kung fu prompted the Black Power Movement both in theory and practice,inspired Blaxploitation that subverted the white cultural domination in the 1970s,and nowadays it has struck root in hip-hop.As an in-depth historical exploration and a bright look to the future,the novel explores kung fu that empowers the Black as the inter-ethnic cultural bond in order to reconstruct the inter-ethnic relations.
