"Images and language stitching"refers to a literature phenomenon in which textual expression and readers'reception of images and language stitching based on the guiding effect of intertextuality and readers'expectation horizon.The ultimate research goal of"images and language stitching"is to reveal the controllable principle of literature reception difference.This paper integrates the theories of narratology and reception aesthetics,takes the stitching phenomenon in William Faulkner's works as the research medium,and probes into the literature effects of interactive stitching between language and images,aiming at exploring the formation law and realization approach of images and language stitching,expanding the perspective of literature reception research,and promoting the enrichment and development of contemporary literature criticism theory.
