Effects of Dietary Supplementation of Black Soldier Fly Enzyme on Growth Performance,Body Composition,Serum Biochemistry, and Liver Antioxidant Indicators of Hybrid Snakehead
This experiment investigated the growth performance, body composition, serum biochemistry, and Hepatic antioxidant ability of hybrid snakehead(Chnna maculate♀×Chnna argus♂)by adding 4%black soldier fly enzyme.180 hybrid snakeheads with an initial average mass of(5.31±0.01)g were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into 2 groups with 3 replicates in each group.30 hybrid snakeheads with healthy were selected for each replicates. The experiment lasted for 63 days.(1)Compared with the control group, there were no significant difference in the weight gain rate, specific growth rate, and survival rate and the morphological indicators such as the condition factor and hepatosomatic ratio of the experimental group's hybrid snakehead(P>0.05).The feed conversion ratio shows a decreasing trend(P=0.074).(2)There was no significant difference in the serum biochemical indicators of the experimental group's hybrid snakehead, such as alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, total protein,albumin,globulin,triglycerides,cholesterol,glucose,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(P>0.05).(3)Compared with the control group, the liver catalase activity of experimental group was significantly increased and alanine aminotransferase activity was significantly decreased(P<0.05),while there were no significant difference in superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, glutathione peroxidase, total antioxidant capacity, and aspartate aminotransferase(P>0.05).Adding 4%black soldier fly enzyme in the feed can improve the feed conversion ratio of hybrid snakehead, enhance their liver antioxidant capacity, and will not have a negative impact on the protein, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism.
