Research Progress of Medium Chain Fatty Acids in Swine Production
Medium-chain fatty acids have good feeding effects in the field of pig production due to their biological characteristics such as fast absorption and safety.They have broad application prospects.Currently,there are few comprehensive reports on medium-chain fatty acids in pig feeding.This article comprehensively elucidates the mechanism of action of medium-chain fatty acids from the perspective of physicochemical properties,metabolic principles,and biological functions,and summarizes their application effects in four stages:piglets,fattening pigs,pregnant and lactating sows.It also discusses the potential economic benefits of medium-chain fatty acids in different stages of pig production.This study provides a basis for a comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of action and effects of medium-chain fatty acids,and offers feasible references to improve the production performance of pig farming and provide more viable solutions for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in different growth stages of pigs.
