Differential Analysis of Temporal Distribution of Egg Production and Antioxidant Indexes in Broiler Breeders During the Middle and Late Stages
The relationship between ovarian oxidative damage in the middle and late egg-laying period and egg-laying interval is unclear. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the relationship between egg-laying time pattern, biochemical parameters, and oxidative stress in broiler breeders in the middle and late egg-laying period. In this experiment,111 broiler breeders were randomly selected to monitor the distribution of egg laying time. The egg production of each cage was accurately tracked and the daily egg production was counted at different time periods. The whole experiment periods were 14 days.According to the statistical results,we labelled the broiler breeders which laid eggs intensively(from 0:00-12:00)as group A,while labelling those which laid eggs dispersely during the whole day(from 0:00-24:00)as group B(n=42).Six chickens from each group A and B were randomly selected for the determination of serum biochemical parameters and antioxidant parameters in serum, liver and ovarian tissues. The results showed that there were no significant differences in serum biochemical and antioxidant indexes between group A and group B.In liver tissues, the contents of GSH-Px and NO in group A were significantly higher than in group B(P<0.05),and the contents of CAT and SOD were extremely significantly higher than in group B(P<0.01),while the contents of MDA were significantly lower than in group B(P<0.05).In ovarian tissues, the CAT activity in group A was significantly higher than in group B(P<0.05);while the content of MDA was significantly lower than that in group B(P<0.05),and the content of NO and NOS was extremely significantly lower than that in group B(P<0.01).These results indicated that the antioxidant capacity of broiler breeders whose egg laying was concentrated in the morning was higher than that of broiler breeders whose egg laying was scattered in the morning and afternoon in the middle and late stages of egg laying, and the lack of egg laying concentration might be related to the body's resistance to oxidative stress.
