Analysis of the Current Situation of Ecological Production of Broilers in Pingyuan County and Sustainable Development Strategies
To understand the current state of broiler ecological farming in Pingyuan County and to guide all farmers in adopting ecological farming techniques, thereby steering broiler farming in Pingyuan County toward sustainable development, this study employed a sampling survey methodology to conduct recent research on the broiler farming industry in Pingyuan County. The survey encompassed nine aspects:rearing methods, breeds, rearing sites, waste management, among others. The findings indicate that broiler ecological farming in Pingyuan County is still in its nascent stages, evident in four key areas:the proportion of broiler ecological farming is low, with only two farms meeting ecological farming standards, representing a mere 0.8%of all farmers in the county;the annual output of broilers from ecological farms constitutes 14.57%of the county's total annual output;the availability of environmental protection facilities is insufficient, with only two farms having comprehensive supporting facilities, accounting for 0.8%of the county's farmers;the implementation rate of relevant norms and standards is low, with large-scale farms performing relatively better compared to backyard farmers, who face significant challenges;and the overall level of ecological farming technology remains low.To address these issues and facilitate the transformation and upgrading towards ecological farming,it is necessary to implement several measures:providing green subsidies to agriculture, attracting large-scale breeding enterprises, establishing professional cooperatives, and strengthening brand development.
