Semi-submersible barge has been used in projects for a long time.It plays an important&unique role in transporting super long and overweight equipment that cannot be separated and carried,such as large offshore oil drilling platforms,large ships and prefabricated components,as well as in port/dock construction,offshore engineering project construction,repairing and building ships,salvaging sunken ships,transporting deep-water ships through shallow water channels,etc.With the rise of offshore wind power industry in recent period,new mission has been given for the semi-submersible barge:to transport the fan engine room,tower barrel and blade,and to use as a fan installation ship while bottom sitting during intertidal zone.Such ship operation system is especially unique.This paper outlines the special system design such as its ballast and bottom jet systems for the semi-submersible barge.
