Turbocharger Surge Cause Analysis of Main Engine in Mooring Test of A Ship
Exhaust gas turbochargers are widely used in modern marine diesel engines.During the mooring test of the main engine on a newly-built ship, the surge phenomenon of the main engine supercharger compressor may occur.Based on the turbocharger surge phenomenon of a ship during the mooring test, this paper finds out the main factors causing the turbocharger surge through the measurement data of the propeller shaft torque of the real ship and the analysis of the propulsion characteristic curve, and proposes a specific avoidance method during the mooring test.
