Evolution of the US military's operational concepts:Influencing factors and future trends
The factors influencing the evolution of the US military's operational concepts are classified into six categories:dynamics of the international order,shift in national strategies,change in"threatening adversaries",lessons learned from military operations,advancements in science and technology,and competition for budget resources.The evolution of typical joint and service-specific operational concepts,as well as operational concepts proposed by think tanks,is described.The connotations and extensions of the Joint All-Domain Operations concept are analyzed.Typical operational concepts of the US military across different periods and dimensions are compared and analyzed.The findings clearly indicate that the US military's multiple operational concepts will converge toward Joint All-Domain Operations.A multidimensional perspective and a novel approach to studying the US military's operational concepts are provided.
