The Synthesis of Polyester Plasticizer and Its Application in PVC
The polyester plasticizer was synthesized by melt condensation and used as auxiliary plasticizer for the preparation of polyvinyl chloride(PVC) to reduce the migration of dioctyl phthalate(DOP) in plasticized PVC.Different branching degrees of polyester plasticizers were prepared by adding the third monomer and controlling the amount of the monomer.PVC plasticizing tests were examined to investigate the influences of the branching degrees and the average molecular weights of the polyester plasticizers on the plasticizing properties.The results show that the compatibilities of PVC and polyester plasticizers with different molecular weight are good.In the presence of the synthesized polyester with higher molecular weight or lower branching degree,PVC materials would have lower glass transition temperature and better thermal stability,with higher plasticizing efficiency of the plasticizer.
