Design of U-Shaped Extrusion Die Structure Optimization Based on Die Flow Balance
The U-shaped part model,U-shaped part model with different thickness of the inner and outer gas auxiliary layer,and U-shaped part model with inclined opening angle were built by Polyflow software.Numerical simulation was carried out under three conditions of traditional extrusion,different thickness of auxiliary gas in inner and outer layers,and different inclination of opening.Some results were analyzed by Origin software.It is found that using gas-assisted technology is more beneficial to mold flow balance than cavity structure optimization.And when the thickness of the inner and outer gas assistant layers is different,the inner gas layer is larger and the outer gas layer is thinner,which is more advantageous to restrain the deformation of the U-shaped piece.And it is more advantageous to reduce or adjust the deformation of the opening contraction of the U-shaped part by modifying the inclined angle of the opening arm of the die.
