Preparation and Performance of Fluorinated Polynorbornene Dicarboximide with Excellent Optical Properties,Hydrophobicity and Oleophobicity
The optical properties of polynorbornene materials greatly decreased due to traditional modification strategies of improving thermal properties.A kind of norbornene dicarboximide monomer with the structure of p-perfluorohexyl benzene was designed and synthesized by using perfluorohexyl iodide,p-bromoaniline and nadic anhydride. And a novel fluorinated norbornyl homopolymer(PNANPF6)was prepared by ring-opening metathesis polymerization. As contrast groups, four homopolymers with similar structure including benzene(PNANP),p-methylbenzene(PNANPC1),p-trifluoromethyl benzene(PNANPF1)and p-hexylbenzene(PNANPC6)were synthesized. The structures of polymers were demonstrated by NMR and IR spectra.Under the premise that the thermal and mechanical properties can be basically maintained, the water/n-dodecane contact angle of PNANPF6 is 18°/26° higher than that of PNANP.Besides, the transmittance at 400 nm/800 nm is 36%/22%higher than that of PNANP.These results fully prove that the introduction of imide, benzene and perfluorohexyl structures can synergically improve the optical properties, hydrophobicity and oleophobicity of norbornene polymers. This study provided a new strategy for the preparation of novel multifunctional norbornene polymers,as well as laid a theoretical foundation for the expanding application of polynorbornene materials.
