Structure and Properties of Poly(lactic acid)/Poly(butylene adipate terephthalate)Copolymer Blend Fibers Compatibilized with Polymerized Rosin
Polymerized rosin(PR)was used as compatibilizer, and poly(lactic acid)/poly(butylene terephthalate-butylene terephthalate)(PLA/PBAT)blend fibers with different PLA/PBAT ratios were prepared by melt blending method. The physical and chemical properties of the blends and fibers were evaluated by tensile test, microstructural observation, thermal analyses, and rheological test.Introduction of PR leads to a decrease in the glass transition and melting temperature of PBAT and PLA,promoting the homogeneous dispersion of PBAT phase. In the PR-contained mixture with PLA and PBAT,PR particles with smaller particle sizes were obtained, the heterogeneous nucleation effect of PBAT are enhanced, and the crystallization temperature of PLA increases. With a PR mass fraction of 30%,the diameter of microfiber is reduced to less than 2 pm.With the increase of PBAT content, both the elongation at break is increased by up to nearly 600%,and the breaking strength of the blend fibers is also increased by about 200%.
