Progress on Research of Triboelectric Nanogenerators Based on Polydimethylsiloxane Elastomers
Climate change and energy-related environmental issues are becoming increasingly serious,thus the renewable energy technologies have attracted more attention.Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy,which is one of the important energy harvesting technologies.Due to low cost,high efficiency,and high output power,TENG is widely used in fields such as micro-nano power supplies,self-powered sensors,large-scale ocean energy collection,and high-voltage DC power supply.The output performance of TENG mainly depends on the triboelectric material.Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)has good flexibility,biocompatibility and negative polarity,which is an excellent negative triboelectric material.This article reviewed the advantages of PDMS as negative triboelectric material,discussed the effect of physical or chemical modification of PDMS on performance of TENGs,and analyzed the application and existing problems of PDMS-based TENGs.
