Research Progress of Trimethylene Carbonate-based Responsive Aliphatic Polycarbonate
The aliphatic polycarbonate is a biodegradable and biocompatible material, and has attracted much attention in biomedicine due to its characteristics. In the amphiphilic aliphatic polycarbonate polymer, the polycarbonate part is located in the core of the micelles by its hydrophobicity, and this part combines the polymer with the drugs utilizing physical-coating and chemical bonding, which improves the ways and ability of drug transport and release in response to the environment. Therefore, this work reviews the research progress of responsive aliphatic polycarbonates in recent years and mainly describes the synthesis, response principle, and application in drug delivery, and release of aliphatic polycarbonates with external environmental stimuli response(pH,light, temperature, and redox).
