Comprehensive and Innovative Experimental Teaching Design Inspired by De-wetting Nature of Biological Surfaces——Green and Rapid Preparation of Biomimetic Superhydrophobic Coating
The traditional surface science experimental teaching contents were mostly demonstrative and lacked the adjusting approaches for elaborating the surface microstructure and functional property, especially in the domain of efficient preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces. In this experiment, lotus leaf biomimetic superhydrophobic surfaces were rapidly constructed via the efficient Thiol-Michael addition click reaction and coated on the commercial poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)woven fabric. The influence of the surface microstructure on the superhydrophobic performance of the coating on PET fabric was then investigated. This experiment teaching project could enable the undergraduate students to perceive the designing principles of superhydrophobic surfaces, deepen students'understanding of the wettability mechanism of the material surface, and cultivate their passion for pursuing scientific truth.
