Influence of Sand Concentration on Sand Laying Accuracy by Using Trailing Suction Dredger Combined with Sand Laying Barge
In response to the problem of instability, arching,or sliding of soft base layer caused by a combination of trailing suction dredger and sand laying barge in the process of inshore sand laying and dredger-fill in Philippine 201 project, the construction was supported by data analysis, and checked by using hydraulic formulas. The sediment concentration was studied, which would affect the fit of trailing suction dredger to sand laying barge, and lower the construction accuracy. The research showed the optimum fit of trailing suction dredger to sand laying barge subject to the concentration of dredger-fill sand ranging from 1.45 t/m3 to 1.54 t/m3.Higher or lower concentration led to an increase in the proportion of dredger-fill layer. The relevant conclusions served as a reference for subsequent construction.
