Application of Non-Sand-Cushion Vacuum Preloading in Reinforcing Waterway Slope in Dredger-Fill Silt Yard
As an upgraded process,non-sand-cushion vacuum preloading method is of such advantages as simple process as well as no sand/gravel needed, and can be used to reinforce the waterway slope well.Based on the excavation of the waterway in a dredger-filled silt yard in the eastern new district of Taizhou, the calculation process of the soil strength growth through vacuum preloading was analyzed, and compared with the real reinforcing effect. The results showed that the treatment effect reached the expected design value.By analyzing the effect of load-relieving on the soil strength index, the effect of load-relieving shall act as one of factors for calculating the stability of waterway excavation,so that the result would be closer to the real situation.Finite element software PLAXIS was used to analyze the stability of the excavated waterway subject to the yard being reinforced by vacuum preloading without sand cushion. The analysis results verified the stability of bank slope.
