Research on Smart Port Development Strategies by a Consulting and Design Firm of Waterway Transport Engineering
Based on the policies involving smart port,the relevant China national guiding documents and regulations were summarized and analyzed.And then,the development statuses of the internal and external entities in the field of smart port were investigated,including the port construction units,the competitors in port engineering field,the information technology companies,and a consulting&design firm of waterway transport engineering.At the same time,the quantitative analysis and calculation were made for the development status of the firm in the field of smart port by applying such scientific research methods as modern enterprise strategy theory,SWOT analysis,and Analytic Hierarchy Process.Combining with the characteristics of the firm,its advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats were analyzed during the process of developing smart port business.In addition,the specific strategies set by the firm were discussed subject to a boom in smart port.
