An Overview of the Symposium on"Developing Whole-Process People's Democracy and Trade Union Work"
To deepen the study and implement the spirit of Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection in Shanghai,and to thoroughly carry out Xi Jinping's important discourse on the whole-process people's democracy,the symposium discussed the theoretical logic,practical exploration,and the development of whole-process people's democracy in conjunction with the work of trade unions.The participants fully explored the connotation and advantages of whole-process people's democracy,the inherent logic of trade union involvement in developing whole-process people's democracy,and focused on introducing Shanghai's practical exploration in strengthening the institutions through which the people run the country,fully developing consultative democracy,and actively developing democracy at the primary level.They further proposed that with regard to the trade unions'participation in developing whole-process people's democracy,it is necessary to enhance top-level design and institutional construction,engage in extensive political participation,social participation and primary-level participation,and reinforce the integration of trade union democracy and the construction of organizational democracy.
