An Analysis of the Shanghai Women Workers Movement from 1921 to 1927
From 1921 to 1927,under the leadership of the Communist Party of China(the CPC),women industrial workers in Shanghai experienced such major historical events as the February strike, the May 30th Movement and the armed uprising of Shanghai workers. They grew gradually from spontaneous and blind working women to an organized, ideological conscious and advanced class. They promoted the development and growth of grass-roots party and trade union organizations in a series of struggles. They created valuable struggle experience for the party-led labor movement, and also injected the CPC and the Shanghai region with vivid revolutionary power. At the same time,as the main force of the women's movement, they demonstrated the determination, organization, and bravery of the working class, promoting Shanghai women to find the fundamental path of liberation. This essay adopts the traditional class analysis method and applies a research perspective of social gender, attempting to find the figure of women in the mainstream history of the labor movement,so as to present a different perspective on the research of the history of the labor movement, which is mainly characterized by revolutionary narratives.
