The Rise and Prospect of Research on Digital Gig Labor Relations in China
Constructing harmonious labor relations in the digital gig economy is a key issue for supporting and regulating the development of new employment forms.A review of domestic research reveals progressive trends,reflecting profound practical challenges and shifts of the times.Scholarly discussions primarily focus on three critical topics:(1)the conceptual connotations of digital gig work,(2)analysis and critique of insufficient labor rights protection,and(3)multi-faceted exploration of labor relations classification.Based on bibliometric analysis and key issues identified in the literature,further research should address:(1)clarifying the conceptual boundaries of digital gig work and ensuring accurate classification to reduce misuse;(2)deepening the application of Marxist political economy principles while incorporating multidisciplinary insights;(3)responding to labor relations identification issues to achieve a virtuous cycle of sustainable platform development and enhanced labor rights protection;and(4)aligning the improvement of labor relations with the goal of achieving common prosperity in the new era.
