Characteristics of Sand-Storm Weather in Northwest China in the Tang Dynasty
In this paper,how to use the historical records to research the characteristics of sand-dust weather in Northwest China in the Tang Dynasty was discussed.The 40 pieces of the historical records about sand-dust weather in Northwest China in the Tang Dynasty were used to emphatically analyze the temporal distribution and characteristics of sand-dust weather in Chang'an,the capital of China at that time.It was found that the grades of sand-dust weather were in an obvious increase trend,and the artificially driving factors and the sand sources were researched.Such trend was mainly caused by the increase of sand sources in the Hexi Corridor,Xinjiang and west Inner Mongolia due to the frequent occurrence of wars,change of land use ways and land desertification after the late Tang Dynasty.It was considered that to research the occurrence and development characteristics of sand-dust weather in history is of an important historical referential significance for understanding the actual situation of sand-dust weather in history,and scientifically revealing the historical process and mechanism of sand-dust weather so as to predict and control sand-dust weather and push forward the construction of ecological civilization.
