Digital City And Space Syntax: A Digital Planning Approach
Urban planning is transferring towards digital management with digital city development. Space syntax stresses holistic spatial model, and can be used to understand city phenomenon and concepts in the planning process. It provides a new understanding for digital city and planning: it emphasizes space concept in virtual and actual world; it simulates and studies physical space creation; it studies dissymmetry, relationship between wholeness and components, and their transformation in different network structures; it offers a digital platform for discussion, evaluation, and boosts formation of feasible proposals.
