Non-vehicular Transportation Network Planning Based On Citizen Preference
Transportation problems such as congestion and environmental deterioration are getting common in large cities. Beijing is carrying out green transportation action plan. The paper takes Tuanjiehu, Liulitun, and Balizhuang streets of Chaoyang district as examples, makes questionnaire survey and interviews, investigates citizens’ preferences on route, roads, road facilities, and concludes the relation between the preference and slow transport system. The paper puts forwards Beijing downtown slow transport system planning suggestions from three aspects: route improvement, road construction, and service facilities layout.
