The Role of International Institutional Diplomacy in the Foreign Relations of Central Asian Countries
Central Asia stands as a crucial region where major powers converge strategically. This paper explores how Central Asian states can optimize their diplomatic strategies and maximize national interests by strategically leveraging international institutions during great power competition.By analyzing core variables of regime stability and the nature of international institutions, this study provides a detailed explanation of how Central Asian nations adjust their foreign policies precisely through"institutional leverage"in forms of protection, defense, cooperation, and stabilization.Case studies reveal the fundamental strategies these nations employ to respond to external challenges using institutional leverage, enhancing their international bargaining power, maintaining regional stability, and fostering economic growth. In cooperation with international organizations,Central Asian countries tailor their strategies based on the characteristics of international institutions and the stability of their own regimes, flexibly using these mechanisms to safeguard their interests, and demonstrating significant strategic independence and autonomy in international politics. This research not only deepens the understanding of the operational modes of Central Asian states within global politics but also offers insights for other countries facing similar global challenges.Furthermore, this paper provides case studies on the application of institutional leverage in global politics, contributing to the further exploration of theories in international relations.
