Analysis of Influence of Tool Wear on Cutting Process of 17-4PH Stainless Steel
In order to explore the influence of tool wear on cutting force and machined surface temperature,consider-ing the tool wear types in the actual cutting process, the tool geometry of different wear types is established, and the 17-4PH stainless steel orthogonal cutting finite element model is established by DEFORM software.Based on the finite element mod-el,the influence of tool wear on cutting temperature, shunt point and contact surface stress is studied, and the reliability of the wear model is verified by cutting experiments, and the law between the evolution of flank wear and cutting force is stud-ied.The results show that the rake face wear can reduce the cutting force and cutting temperature to a certain extent, and the other wear forms increase the cutting force. With the increase of the wear VB of the rake face, the ploughing effect is sig-nificant,the cutting force increases significantly, but the stress change of the contact surface is not obvious.
