Effect of Reaming Parameters on Chip Morphology of AF1410 Ultra-high Strength Steel
Due to its high tensile strength and good fracture toughness, long spiral chip shape often appears during hole making, which affects the processing quality.Through reaming of AF1410 steel, this test explores the effect of spindle speed and feed speed on chip micro-topography,and provides basis for improving chip morphology and improving reaming quality of AF1410 ultra-high strength steel. After observing the free surface, back surface and top surface with typical chip morphology, the results show that the free surface of the chip is of saw tooth lamellar structure and the width of the saw tooth lamellar increases with the increase of the spindle drilling speed and feed speed. The back surface is generally smooth. With the increase of the spindle speed, the surface smoothness increases, which is conducive to improving the processed quality, and there is tearing serrated burr at the top when the drilling speed is800r/min.The feed speed has little effect on the back surface. The top surface of the chip is in the form of periodic sawtooth. The chip thickness decreases with the increase of spindle speed, and the sawtooth height increases with the increase of spindle speed and feed speed.
