Study on Quality of Spiral Milling Hole Making in GFRP Material
When traditional drilling processes GFRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic),defects such as burrs,tears and delamination are very easy to occur,and the spiral milling method can effectively avoid these defects.The cutting test of spi-ral milling hole is carried out on GFRP by orthogonal and single-factor test methods,and the influence of cutting parameters on the surface roughness and hole diameter size error of the hole wall is obtained,and the orifice defects of spiral milling and drilling are compared and analyzed.The results show that the cutting parameters affecting the surface roughness of the hole wall are cutting speed,tool rotation speed and axial feed pitch from largest to smallest.The cutting speed,tool rotation speed and axial feed pitch are proportional to the surface roughness of the hole wall.The cutting parameters that affect the hole size error are tool rotation speed,axial feed pitch,cutting speed.There are more defects on the hole entry side of the spiral milling hole,while the hole mouth defects are more likely to occur on the hole exit side.
