Analysis of Wear Mechanism of PVD Coated Tool Milling 45 Steel
By conducting cutting experiments on 45 steel material using PVD coated hard alloy cutting tools, the wear mechanism is studied.TiAlN and AlTiN coatings are prepared by TiAl metal targets with different ratios of Ti and Al,and the AlTiN coating time is simultaneously extended, and Si doping is realized by TiSi metal targets, and TiAlSiN coatings are prepared to further improve the hardness and self-lubrication of the coating. The results show that when milling 45 steel, the tool rake face has coating disintegration, bonding, microcracks and chipping and other wear forms, and the tool flank has bonding layer, stripe, chipping edge, pit and other wear forms. The wear mechanism of PVD coated tools are mainly bonding wear, abrasive wear, diffusion wear and oxidation wear.
