Experimental Study on Precision Turning Titanium Alloy with PCD Tool
The wet turning experiment of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is carried out with PCD tool,and the theoretical roughnesses under different feed rates are calculated.Based on the experimental method of single factor,the influence of cutting parameters on cutting force and machined surface roughness of workpiece is studied.The results show that in the range of experimental parameters,the main cutting force increases significantly with the increase of cutting depth,followed by feed rate.The axial force and radial force increase with the increase of cutting depth,but the increase is not large.The main cutting force increases greatly with the increase of feed rate,but the effect of feed rate on radial force and axial force is small.On the whole,each cutting component increases with the increase of cutting speed,but the increase range is small.The feed rate has the greatest influence on the surface roughness of the workpiece,and the higher the feed rate,the closer the actual cutting workpiece roughness is to the theoretical calculation value.
