Analysis of Hole-making Quality and Exit Forming Process in Tilted Helical Milling of CFRP
In order to improve the quality of hole making of carbon fiber reinforced composite(CFRP),combining the geometry of ball end milling cutter and the principle of tilted helical milling,the kinematics characteristics of tilted helical milling of CFRP ball end milling cutter are analyzed in detail,and the forming process of hole exit is analyzed.The influ-ence of cutting process,cutting speed and material deformation on the quality of hole exit are discussed.The experiment of tilted helical milling with CFRP ball end milling cutter is carried out,and the hole exit quality is analyzed when the ball end milling cutter is inclined from 0° to 5°.The results show that the tilted helical milling with the ball end mill can significant-ly reduce the exit burr and delamination of CFRP,and realize the low damage of CFRP hole-making.
