Study on Cutting Force of Turning Thin-walled Cylinder Grooves of Glass Fiber Reinforced Composites
Turning experiments on glass fiber reinforced composites with PVD ultrafine TiAlN-based nano-coated hard-coated cemented carbide tools are carried out,the changing characteristics of the cutting force in the grooving process and the influences of cutting speed and cooling conditions on the cutting force are studied. The results show that the cutting force is in a certain fluctuation state during the whole cutting process because the glass fiber is wound layer by layer at different angles;the softening of the resin of the workpiece material caused by the cutting temperature is the main reason of the influence of the cutting speed and the cooling conditions on the change of the cutting force;the influence of the feed on the cutting force is the result of the combined effect of the change of the cutting layer geometry and the change of the cutting temperature.
