Effect of Cutting Parameters and Geometric Parameters on Cutting Force of Internal Thread Processing
In the process of tapping, excessive cutting force is an important reason for the cutting of the tap.In order to deeply analyze the effects of cutting parameters and geometric parameters on the cutting force of the tap, finite element simulation is used to simulate the tapping with different cutting speeds, different rake angles, different helix angles and dif-ferent tap lengths, and experimental validation is carried out according to the simulation results, and the cutting force of tap-ping is measured by the Kistler dynamometer. The results show that:the torque and axial force increase as the cutting speed increased first, then decrease. When the cutting speed is 10m/min,the value of the two is the largest, and then gradually de-creases.Torque and axial force gradually decrease. The spiral angle increases, the torque and axial force are fluctuated. When the spiral angle is 45°,the torque and axial force are the smallest. There is a positive correlation between torque and tap length, but tap length is negatively related to the axial force. The test value is consistent with the trend of changes in the simulation value, and the maximum relative error is 37.5%.
