Research on the Impact of Digital Service Trade Barriers on Digital Service Exports
This article analyzes the trade effects of digital service trade barriers from two perspectives: restric-tive measures on digital service trade and differences in bilateral regulatory policies. Based on China's digital serv-ice export data to 76 countries from 2014 to 2021, it empirically analyzes the impact mechanism of digital service trade barriers on China's digital service exports. Research has shown that restrictive measures and regulatory policy differences in digital service trade have a negative impact on China's digital service exports, but regulatory policy differences have a greater impact. The digital service trade barrier suppresses China's digital service exports by in-creasing service trade costs. The closer the level of internet development between countries, the higher the depth of the signed RTA digital trade rules and regulations, which can weaken the negative effects of trade barriers on digital service exports. The impact effect still exists in country heterogeneity. Therefore, Strengthening bilateral digital trade cooperation, accelerating digital technology innovation and popularization, are conducive to promoting the improvement of the scale and quality of China's digital service trade exports.
