Impact Caused by IPEF on RCEP Supply Chain Cooperation and Countermeasures
The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity(IPEF)is the institutional tool for the Unit-ed States in its geopolitical rivalry and economic competition with China.At present,the IPEF members have reached agreements concerning supply chain resilience,a clean economy,and equitable economic practices;how-ever,substantial disagreements persist regarding trade matters.The IPEF has made institutional innovations in nego-tiation topics and cooperation mechanisms,especially in supply chain resilience agreements.Therefore,the imple-mentation of IPEF supply chain resilience agreements will have an impact on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)supply chain cooperation mechanism and disrupt industrial chain and supply chain cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region that relies on comparative advantages,thereby resulting in the emergence of two parallel supply chains.RCEP members should continue to deepen industrial chain and supply chain cooperation in the re-gion;China,in particular,should strengthen cooperation with the neighboring countries on supply chain resilience regulations to improve supply chain security.
