Content,Impact and China's Response to the Supply Chain Agreements under the"Indo-Pacific Economic Framework"
The"supply chain"pillar is an important part of the"Indo-Pacific Economic Framework"launched by the Biden administration of the United States, and it was the first to reach and release a formal text in the four-pillar negotiations.Aimed at mitigating supply chain risks and maintaining economic security, the United States seeks to reassert its economic dominance in the Indo-Pacific region by building a"supply chain alliance"as part of a broader"de-risking"strategy targeting China. The introduction of the supply chain agreement aligns with other U.S.strategies aimed at containing China, accelerating the relocation of China's manufacturing supply chains through the formulation and promotion of"American-style"standards and rules, curbing the development of China's key industrial supply chains, and further exacerbating the uncertainty and instability in the Indo-Pacific re-gion.In response,China should adhere to the principles of multilateralism and non-discrimination,strengthen co-operation with foreign supply chains through cooperation mechanisms such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP),continuously improve the core competitiveness of key in-dustrial supply chains under the guidance of scientific and technological innovation, and enhance the supply capacity of international economic and trade rules to cope with the risks and challenges brought about by supply chain agree-ments under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
