Walk into the World of Natural Insects Written by Fang Guancheng——An Examination of the Qing Dynasty Agricultural Book Kan Canci
Kan Canci is an agricultural work by Fang Guancheng,a famous minister of the Qing Dynasty, and soon after the publication of the single book,it was included in the collection of en-graved books Shubentang Poems of the three generations of the Fang family in Tongcheng,Anhui Province. The two existed in a"mother-son"relationship for more than 130 years, and it was not changed until the late Qing Dynasty when Guangxu reprinted the Kan Canci alone.Due to its long-term inclusion in poetry collections, resulting in a lack of popularity, people know very little about this agricultural book, which is written in the form of words(poems)annotations, and has both el-egant and vulgar rhymes. This situation is very far from the good expectations of Fang Guancheng himself and his relatives and friends, and it also affects the value of the book in the historical process. Therefore,by summarizing the background, version circulation and stylistic content of the book,we try to excavate the precious agricultural ideas stored in it,so that the content of the agri-cultural book can be paid more attention to.
