A Preliminary Study on the Rural Survey Data and Its Value in Jiangsu Province during the Period of the Republic of China
In the 1920s and 1930s,along with the deepening social conflicts of semi-colonial-ism and semi-feudalism,China's rural areas were suddenly in a state of collapse,and a trend of Chinese rural surveys emerged.Jiangsu Province,as the capital of the Republic of China,was one of the regions with the largest number of rural surveys,leaving behind a large num-ber of high-quality survey reports.Domestic scholars have conducted many valuable resear-ches on the organization and utilization of the rural survey data of the Republican period,and many treatises have been formed around the rural survey data of this period.However,there is still a lack of comprehensive and systematic in-depth research on the rural survey data of Jiangsu Province during the Republic of China period and its value.In this paper,the over-view,content,characteristics and value of the rural survey data of Jiangsu Province during the Republic of China period are comprehensively sorted out and discussed.
