Owing to their unique performance endowed by mutual effects of inorganic and organic moety, organosilicon compounds and organosilicon-based materials have important applications in many fields, especially in the field of medicine. Hydrosilylation is a key reaction involved in the synthesis of organosilicon. In this paper,platinum-based catalysts for the hydrosilane addition reaction and related catalytic mechanism were introduced. These catalysts mainly include Speier catalyst,Karstedt catalyst and other platinum catalysts and involved catalytic reactions are characterized by Chalk-Harrod mechanism and modified Chalk-Harrod mechanism. Advantages and disadvantages of each catalyst were analyzed and future development was prospected.
