Preparation and catalytic properties of core-shell SiO2@CeO2/Ag
To address the problem of low contact area between catalyst and carbon soot particles and the limited catalytic performance of commercial diesel particulate filter,a SiO2@CeO2/Ag core-shell structure is designed and pre-pared. XRD indicates the successful synthesis of the composite, while SEM and TEM characterization show that the composite microspheres possessed micron-sized core-shell structure. The performance testing results demonstrate that catalytic diesel particulate filter with this matrix is able to significantly reduce the ignition temperature of carbon soot particulate and exhibits excellent mechanical stability. The results of this study indicate that the synthetic Ag/CeO2/SiO2 has significant advantages in the catalytic oxidation of carbon soot particulate.
