China's oil and gas import and export situation in 2023
In 2023,China's crude oil imports stood at 564 million tons,up 11%from the previous year.Refined oil imports hit a record high of 47.55 million tons,up 80.4%from the previous year.Among them, fuel oil imports increased significantly to 27.83 million tons,an increase of 113.4%over the previous year, aviation kerosene exports were 15.86 million tons, surpassing diesel and gasoline to become the top export variety for the first time, and net imports of 12.35 million tons of naphtha reached an unprecedented level.Net natural gas imports amounted to 158.945 billion cubic meters,an increase of 9.67%over the previous year in 2023.LPG imports including propane, butane, and blends, rose to 32.19 million tons,up 21%from the previous year.It is expected that China's crude oil imports in the future will maintain a slight upward trend, excess refining capacity needs to be highly concerned, further increase in the export of refined oil products is still an important direction, the number and capacity of LPG imports will continue to grow,China needs to enhance its participation in international trade and its own right to speak, there is still huge room for growth in natural gas consumption, and carbon peaking&carbon neutrality goals will further pull China's natural gas imports to continue to climb.
