Characteristics of Southeast Asian oil and gas market and analysis of export problems of Chinese oil and gas equipment enterprises
Southeast Asian countries are rich in oil and gas resources and are the first overseas markets where Chinese oil and gas equipment enterprises have entered and developed. The main problems encountered by Chinese oil and gas equipment exported to Southeast Asia include difficult market development and high entry threshold, low project profits and high risks, and poor business continuity and difficulty in maintaining market share. It is deeply affected by resource nationalism and seriously polarized.Although supported by free trade policies, they have serious technical barriers to trade.Southeast Asian market development activities rely heavily on local agents, while oil and gas producers are increasingly inclined to disintermediation.High-end products and technologies are monopolized by European and American companies, while low-end products are subject to low-cost competition from local producers. It is suggested that Chinese oil and gas equipment enterprises should build an efficient information service network, strengthen their supply chain, and establish a risk coping mechanism to solve the dilemma of Southeast Asian market development.
