Current status of domestic and foreign oil companies'participation in international organizations and suggestions for Chinese companies
This paper divides international organizations into such three categories as intergovernmental international organizations,non-governmental industrial organizations,and academic organizations,selects 7 major international oil companies and 10 representative national oil companies,investigates more than 100 international organizations in which large foreign oil companies have a high degree of participation,and finds that the participation channels,issues of concern,and value of oil companies in different types of international organizations are different.According to their own development needs,foreign oil companies participate extensively and deeply in various international organizations,which have a driving effect on their industry leadership,scientific and technological innovation,and talent cultivation.At present,China's oil companies still need to further improve their participation in various international organizations in terms of plan,scope,depth,and effect of participation.In view of the experience and practice of international oil companies,coupled with the development trend and transition concept of China's oil and gas industry,it puts forward such three suggestions as paying attention to the intergovernmental international organizations in key regions,gradually improving the breadth and depth of participation in non-governmental industry organizations,giving full play to the advantages of academic organizations and independently building a diversified platform to promote the further high-quality development of the energy industry and realize the high-quality opening-up.
