Wang Zhongmin was a famous bibliographer in China.In his life,he participated in the writing of a large number of Synopses of Chinese Rare Books.An important work in the"Compilation of the Complete Works of Wang Zhongmin",a major national social science project,is to collate more than 2770 synopses of Chinese rare books collected by the National Library of Peiping.This paper reviews the general situation of Wang Zhongmin's compilation of the Synopses of Chinese Rare Books,analyzes the characteristics of Wang Zhongmin's compilation of the synopsis,and summarizes the experience of the compilation.The new collection of Chinese Rare Books in the National Library of Peiping will help readers to understand the general features of Chinese rare books and help scholars to carry out more case studies.14 refs.
