There are different perspectives on how to understand information resource management.The library perspective is a relatively old and unique perspective that has rarely been explored in the past.This paper shows the connotation,extension and characteristics of library information resource management from the origin,mis-sion and evolution of the library,including the mission and function of the library in the ancient library model,and the functions,tasks and implementation modes of library information resource management in the era of public library,the Internet era,the era of big data and the era of digital intelligence.This paper also introduces the experience of foreign countries on how to strengthen and expand the core competencies of libraries,and looks forward to the future of libraries and librarians.19 refs.
